Industrial Platform. Authors: Adolfo Castilla and Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Gonz\u00e1lez del \u00c1lamo<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

This post is dedicated to describe the work done by Team 1 of the fourteen teams created in the meeting called Tallent for Challenge<\/a>, <\/em>held during the 8th and 9th of last September, in Covarrubias and the Salda\u00f1uela Palace. The objective was to study in depth the 14 platforms currently proposed in the El Valle Digital project.<\/strong> to determine their functions, content, participants, services to be provided, potential clients, the business plan and other aspects necessary for the implementation of the platforms in question.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We worked with a group of more than 100 people made up of students and professors from the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid, experts of various kinds, local members of El Valle Digital and the Innovation Wars\/CiBUC team. The latter company’s Collective Artificial Intelligence methodology was used throughout. The following explains in some detail everything that was done in connection with the Industrial Platform planned in the Digital Valley.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tallent for Challenge<\/em> <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The “Industrial Platform” of El Valle Digital is one of the 14 community digital platforms proposed in the project and one of those that was submitted for study at the meeting held on September 8 and 9. As you know, over two intense days we gathered in Covarrubias and in the Salda\u00f1uela Palace more than 100 people including students and professors from the Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) in Madrid, experts, project members from the area and the Innovation Wars\/CiBUC team.<\/p>\n

As indicated in previous posts, the meeting had the general title of Tallent for Challenge, <\/em>responding with it to those responsible for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UFV who wanted to make their students practice in depth on business issues studied more theoretically in their programs. It was also a unique opportunity for El Valle Digital to have people from outside the project work on the various aspects to be taken care of in the platforms proposed by El Valle Digital managers, including those directly responsible for Innovations Wars\/CiBUC.<\/p>\n

With a rigorous methodology of Collective Artificial Intelligence, the fourteen teams created ad hoc worked on the 14 platforms proposed in El Valle Digital looking for answers to all aspects of digital platforms understood as projects that create value and activity.<\/p>\n

Business Model<\/h4>\n

In fact, everything necessary to have a solid business model in each one of them was investigated, asking about: the stakeholders<\/em><\/a> <\/strong>of the platform; possible problems and their solutions; elaboration of a s1torytelling<\/em> The business model definition, with the initial establishment of the characteristics of the product to be offered, its price and conditions, and an execution plan with the determination of an exciting technological adjacency.<\/p>\n

Industrial Platform. Equipment 01 Platform 01<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Industrial Platform was assigned the number 01 and the team that worked on it was designated as Team 1. The participants were: 1.1 Miguel \u00c1ngel Gambra; 1.2 Thais; 1.3 Alfredo Robledano Abasolo; 1.4 \u00c1lvaro Gallego Miguel; 1.5 Sandra Mill\u00e1n Palacios and 1.6 Ram\u00f3n Fern\u00e1ndez de Caleya Dalmau.<\/p>\n

As a tentative platform project approach to facilitate the work to be done, the specific case of a local manufacturer of socks made from recycled plastics collected in the Bay of Biscay and the Mediterranean was used. A clear example of circular economy that, among other things, made it possible to consider how to certify and market products that reduce pollution of the planet.<\/p>\n

For the group work, a series of templates were used in which participants included their answers and scored each other’s ideas and proposals.<\/p>\n

Group work <\/strong><\/h3>\n

On the first day, in Covarrubias, the first two phases of the CAR exercise were carried out, for which an initial general question was posed for each group (each platform) in order to gather the reflections of the participants. This question was the same for each group, specifically:<\/p>\n

1.- WHAT exactly do we propose to do for each platform?<\/strong><\/p>\n

And two additional questions in connection with it:<\/p>\n

2.- HOW do we make sure it is a success?<\/strong><\/p>\n

3.- HOW do we make sure it starts up?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first two questions guided the first part of the teams’ work and the third was the objective to be achieved in each group on the second day of work.<\/p>\n

Company Game<\/h3>\n

This work, which took place on Friday 9 at the Salda\u00f1uela Palace, was organized in the following five rounds:<\/p>\n

Round 1<\/strong>: Stakeholder<\/em> map<\/h4>\n

Target 1 found by one of the participants was<\/u>: producers and manufacturers of sustainable products.<\/p>\n

The driving desire was<\/u>: the identification of purchase\/sale indicators based on sustainability, customization and volume, as well as the search for connectivity and auctions. The use of Collective Artificial Intelligence for supply chain optimization was also proposed.<\/p>\n

Monetization:<\/u> concluded that it was High<\/p>\n

First year customers:<\/u> estimated 25 customers with an impact of about 150 transactions<\/p>\n

Round 2: <\/strong>Problem and solution<\/h4>\n

After the presentation of ideas, discussions and voting, the following results were obtained:<\/p>\n

Winning target:<\/u> Producers and manufacturers of sustainable products<\/p>\n

Driving desire:<\/u> buying\/selling metrics based on sustainability, customization, volume, connectivity and auctions, as well as supply chain optimization<\/p>\n

Key problem:<\/u> 1.- low visibility, 2.- loss of identity, 3.- failure to identify market advantages.<\/p>\n

Solution to offer:<\/u> 1.- corporate social responsibility, 2.- use of consultancy, 3.- more accessible certificates, 4. secure and fast contacts at lower cost, 5.<\/p>\n

Benefits to be obtained: <\/u><\/p>\n

a) Benefit 1: <\/em>higher profit with consulting than with margins<\/p>\n

b) Benefit 2: <\/em>democratization of the market and of raw materials<\/p>\n

c) Benefit 3:<\/em> creators of a sustainability index for manufacturers and suppliers<\/p>\n

d) Benefit 4: <\/em>we give visibility to a market that is becoming more and more recognizable.<\/p>\n

Round 3:<\/strong> Storytelling<\/em><\/a> of Suitability<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The working group was asked to prepare a script for a theatrical performance in front of their peers from all platforms about what they had developed. The idea was that by explaining what they had designed, a better understanding of everything would emerge and the failures, results and consequences would be seen.<\/p>\n

The template provided by CiBUC had an initial space for the name of the project and the basic claim<\/em> and six grids to include the explanations and their graphic representation.<\/p>\n

Name and slogan (or claim<\/em>) : ECONET e “Get involved in sustainability, fair, lasting and of value”.<\/p>\n

The scenes were:<\/h4>\n

Scene 1: Protagonist. Producers and Manufacturer (B2B). Image showing a plastic can that transforms into a sock.<\/p>\n

Scene 2: Desire: Expand safe market in sustainability. Image showing a person related to various recyclable products and a circular economy scheme.<\/p>\n

Scenario 3: Problem: Lack of transparency or opportunities. Image in which a person is connected with a pintos arrow to a plastic container.<\/p>\n

Scene 4: Novelty. Accessibility, Valuation and Traceability. Image in which a plastic container goes through a first process, a second one and ends up in a factory from where the socks come out ready to be taken to the market.<\/p>\n

Scene 5: Mechanism. With certification and information on sustainability. Image showing a certification document.<\/p>\n

Scene 6: Result. Recognizable and safe. Picture showing the confirmation sign (assertive)<\/p>\n

Round 4:<\/strong> Business Model. Product, price, conditions.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Participants are provided with a template with four large columns and two large sections in each column.<\/p>\n

Columns:<\/strong> Free of charge. Essential, Advanced and Premium<\/p>\n

Horizontal sections:<\/strong> Products and services.<\/p>\n

The Products section has, in turn, two sub-sections: one indicating what the chosen level of service allows and the other indicating the recommended price range.<\/p>\n

Allows by product level chosen: Free<\/strong>, to see the companies that are subscribed. Price: free by accessing the Web<\/p>\n

Allows by level of product chosen: Essential<\/strong>, segmentations, making offers, consulting. Price: 200 Euros per year<\/p>\n

Allows by level of product chosen: Advanced<\/strong>, see ratings. Price; 350 Euros per year<\/p>\n

Allows by selected product level: Premium<\/strong>, Artificial Intelligence. Price: 1000 Euros per year plus 1% of sales over 100,000 Euros.<\/p>\n

As for additional services and extras, the following will be offered<\/p>\n

Free:<\/strong> Visibility to companies and links. Extras:<\/strong> Nothing additional<\/p>\n

Essential:<\/strong> Forums. Contacts. Offers and Demands. Training. Extras:<\/strong> Monthly offer for access to “Advanced”.<\/p>\n

Premium:<\/strong> International. Consulting. SEM. Certification. IA Support. Extras:<\/strong> Attendance and prominence in Fairs and Forums.<\/p>\n

Round 5:<\/strong> Execution Plan. Exciting technological adjacency<\/h4>\n

It is a round of work oriented to make suggestions on possible tasks to be carried out by the platform managers. The template provided had a total of 6 boxes to include the planned tasks. It was not necessary to use all the boxes.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The exercise carried out by Team 1 is very remarkable as it explains much of the content that the El Valle Digital Industrial Platform should have and goes into detail, in its content, its partners, customers, products and services.<\/p>\n

It is a work, described in this post, that can be considered a first version of the Functional Analysis of the platform.<\/p>\n
